The 'CAT' Program provides Salt Lake County residents with Access to Computers, Literacy, Financial Literacy, Internet/Email, Fundamental Computer Skills, ESL, GED, and other educational training opportunities at satellite computer labs in Community Centers across the county.
Thanks to partnerships between Salt Lake County and the community-at-large, (including non-profits, municipal and local government agencies, businesses, and volunteers) CAT Computer Labs, with up to 24 state-of-the-art computers per site, provide the following services:
- Free Internet Access (i.e., e-mail, homework help, research, essays, journals, resume preparation, and INTERNET job search)
- Computer Classes (i.e., INTERNET, email, word processing, job search, spreadsheets, design, computer basics, and 'build-a-computer')
- Individual Computer Instruction (i.e., keyboarding, software applications, and employment skills)
- Skill Practice (i.e., mouse exercise)
